Recruitment’s new digital expectations
The fast-moving world of recruitment has only become more complex as businesses and customers expect to operate in increasingly flexible ways that support remote and hybrid work. Unlike other parts of the hiring process — email communications, online testing, and video interviews — analog pen and paper processes have lagged, slowing the entire hiring journey.
Crelate noticed the market’s demand for a better signing experience and knew the old way of downloading, signing, then uploading documents back into a system to maintain a digital record wouldn’t cut it anymore. The industry needed a better, more digital way of signing that was fast, simple, and intuitive.
To realize its vision of being an all-in-one platform for recruiters, Crelate deployed a signing experience across its recruitment and sales software that would meet the new digital expectations of hiring managers, recruiters, and candidates. And to help make it happen, they turned to Dropbox Sign's eSignature API.

A simplified, user-friendly signing experience
Integrating the Dropbox Sign eSignature API directly into Crelate’s hiring and sales workflows means users can easily send and sign important hiring documents without leaving the platform. “Even if customers haven't used HelloSign [now Dropbox Sign] before, they can use Crelate and in a couple of clicks start sending out contracts for signature,” says Matt Peebles, Crelate’s Senior Software Engineer.
What’s more, Crelate’s Dropbox Sign integration delivers a new set of new signing features to its all-in-one platform: creating reusable templates, sending documents to multiple people with one click, and tracking documents with real-time visibility.
But some of Crelate’s customers already had independent Dropbox Sign accounts with their own workflows and templates set up. Wanting to accommodate these preferences too and true to its promise of flexible software, Crelate added an additional feature that lets customers bring their existing Dropbox Sign accounts — including all of their workflows and templates — to Crelate’s platform.
And even with two integrations, the process was a breeze. “The primary reasons we chose HelloSign [now Dropbox Sign] were the level of intuitive, integrated functionality it brought our customers and the ease with which we could integrate. We were able to have a proof of concept and actually send an eSignature from our app in about a half-day. And then with the developer dashboard, I was able to see that requests were made and ensure what I was expecting to be there was there so that I could rapidly iterate," says Matt.
